Manuscripts by Magdalena Dobromila Rettig from the Regional Museum in Litomyšl

In 2026, four more manuscripts associated with Magdalena Dobromila Rettig were digitised from the collections of the Regional Museum in Litomyšl. The oldest among them is her autograph album (shelfmark R-211), containing drawings and entries spanning the years 1795–1813. The manuscript Bagatellen (R-208), compiled in 1811, preserves records documenting the daily life of the Rettig family during May of 1811. A manuscript from 1822 (R-210) contains primarily copies of poems by Karel Sudimír Šnajdr, together with poems by Magdalena Rettig herself. The miscellany Bohu a vlasti [To God and the Fatherland], dating from approximately 1824–1825 (R-209), comprises German and Czech verses as well as transcriptions of congratulatory messages, lectures, and personal correspondence.
