Our Treasures
The Manuscriptorium digital library is a plentiful source of written cultural heritage. It is therefore little surprising that, among other things, it enshrines true treasures. In this section, we regularly select the most interesting relics from both the Czech and foreign partner institutions that you should not miss out on.
Virtual Exhibitions and Videos
The impressive form of our virtual exhibitions can provide you with high-quality information via selected digital exhibits and associated texts, records, and other accompanying materials. Not only will you find the exhibitions produced by us, but also by our partner institutions and external contributors. The exhibitions are created in the editing environment to which all registered users have access.
We prepare short videos about interesting and inspirational themes. Their attractive form introduces you to unique written relics, but you can also learn more about Manuscriptorium and the ways of using it. Our videos can be viewed on the YouTube channel of the National Library of the Czech Republic.
For Schools
Manuscriptorium for Schools is an emerging educational platform. It seeks to make available opportunities to work with historical documents to pupils of (not only) secondary and primary schools, and share with them the experience of true researchers in a unique way. Teachers who can contribute to the content are welcome to use a wide array of preparation sheets, materials, and selected documents that will open new possibilities for active and multifarious projects for history, Czech, and perhaps also art classes.
For the time being, this platform is in Czech only and can be accessed independently. Its inclusion in Manuscriptorium, version 4, is under way.
